We stopped in for a drink because we didn't think we'd ever get a table for 4 but they were able to accommodate. While we waited, we enjoyed such a treat at the bar. Angel the bartender made mixing these beautiful drinks eith such care look effortless! So delicious. He looked like he was having a great time too! We hit our table in the bar area and it turned out he had our table too. That guy ran the bar and still gave us great service, suggested items for our board and kept up with all our needs. Food was amazing. We will be back again for sure. Was good enough to make some locals brave the crowds of the season. Great place!

I am writing this review 3 months after eating at bar and board because I still cannot stop thinking about the chicken cutlet I had here. My fiance and I visited Newport from NY and decided to try bar and board because they had live jazz music. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff were great, the jazz was phenomenal, and the food was AMAZING. I had the crispy chicken pasta and it was the most amazing chicken cutlet I’ve ever had. I was skeptical about the white beans in the dish but the whole thing worked so well together. We will be returning to Newport and we will definitely be returning to bar and board!!!

Another gem in downtown Newport. The food here was absolutely Amazing!!! The foccacia bread was so good. I got the steak and it was delicious. The cocktails were super good as well. This place is a must if you are in Newport!!!

We just want to do a special shout out to chef Joe Rego at Bar and Board in Newport. 5 course meal prepared and chosen so thoughtfully. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you haven’t paid him a visit yet please do so because you will not regret it! The pasta dish especially probably one of the best meals I have ever had! A Valentines Day to remember

We walked by and saw their menu posted and thought it would be a great spot to get a quick drink and snack. The make your own charcuterie board was fun. Portion size is a bit on the smaller side for the piece I would say. For example the Lardo was four small thin slices of meat but was 13. The focaccia bread was delicious.

Quite possibly my new favorite place to eat. It’s a really cool restaurant with lots of options and great food. They’ve got a big patio out front, another area has a bar-style vibe, and the upstairs has a more elegant feel. Felt like a choose your own adventure, based on where you sit. It used to be a bank and they kept the vault front and center of the bar. A lot of the decor upstairs has a renaissance feel. The straws are made of gluten free pasta. It’s a small example of the attention to detail by this place. The build your own boards are really good. We did the honey, goat cheese, burrata, duck, and crostinis. I also got the clam chowder which was really good. By the time our entrees arrived we were pretty full, but the entrees were great as well. Then, just for the hell of it, we got the bread pudding and apple crisp to go :) Service was a little slow but very friendly and got everything right. I cannot recommend this place more highly. I’ll be back often for at least drinks, boards, and desserts!

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Huge thank you to Chef Joe Rego for making my wife's birthday celebration so special. Joe personally served a thoughtfully prepared 5 course meal for my wife and I and the food was amazing. The servers were kind and thoughtful as well. I would highly recommend taking the time to stop by Bar and Board Bistro to any and everyone. Thanks again for a great evening!!!

Everything here was super nice decorated with Christmas decorations. The staff was really friendly. The bathrooms were really clean too. The chicken sandwhich was crispy chicken on bioche bread with pickled onions. It was crispy and made just right. The shoe string fries were fantasticly made too. It was just enough of salt.
